Default Cam question.

This coming spring I am putting fully ported 195cc AFR LT4 heads on my otherwise stock 350 LT1. Right now, I have Crower 225/232 cam that I was planning to put on along with the heads. I gather this cam is the approximate equivalent to the Comp 224/230. After some second thoughts, I am considering going bigger: Comp 233/239 duration, .569"/.577", 111lsa (this is with 1.6 rockers, I will be using 1.5). Keep in mind: I have a Ford 9" with 4:11's and I want to be able to cruise down the road comfortably at ~1800rpm.

Questions:
1. Will the larger cam be "unfriendly" at ~1800rpm?
2. What kind of a power gains should I expect out of the 233/239 cam over the 225/232? (My goal for the car is 450-475 fwhp, but I obviously wouldn't be offended by making more).
3. Will I lose a substantial amount of low end going to the larger cam (i.e., will it be a dog off the line)?

Any additional advice / suggestions would be appreciated.

IMHO, That cam on a 350 will lose some down low, and will probably be a dog at 1800rpm. your Crower, or a 230/236 would be better.

I've had some trouble finding people who run the 230/236 cam. The CC306 seems to be more popular, but I imagine that for lack of the more radical ramp rates, it doesn't perform quite as well. I would kill if I could find someone with a dyno graph and my approximate setup.

Actually, I've found someone whose done what I want to do. Only thing is, I'm skeptical of their results. They are better than any other stock-bottom LT1 I have ever seen (452rwhp!). This sounds like a really good number, but the guy is only running a 12.05 or so. With that much power, it seems to me that he should easily be in the 11's. Usually, when something sounds too good to be true and they won't tell you exactly how they did it - it's BS. I wrote the guy and asked him what the specs on his cam were and I haven't gotten a response. Check out the website: http://www.homestead.com/my97ws6/index.html

I take it no one knows if 452rw is b.s. or not on a stock bottom end?. . .
