This setup sounds great if you're standing outside the car but it's terrible to drive down the highway at 70mph. I'm going to run 2 mini high flow cats between my headers and my y-pipe. Running 2 it won't effect flow much so I'll have close to the same performance but less annoying noise.

When you start making alot of power, it'll be loud no matter what. Until then a cutout is about as loud as it gets. My car got alot quieter when I put an x-pipe setup on it with bullets, compared to a magnaflow catback with an open cutout.

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Does it hold enough backpressure to keep from losing low end power?

My 2.5" true duals with x pipe and chamber mufflers is to loud for my liking on the street. Open headers would just be stupid lol

Explain why my 600whp T-Type is a lot quieter than my 430whp Camaro.

Generalizations are risky

i'll add a turbo clause in there... but i'll also say your t-type is probably louder than a stock t-type. so at some point while you were adding 400 hp, it started to generate some noise whether by accident or not

...about 350hp, and not exponentially louder as the post suggested (and nowhere near what similar gains in a N/A engine exhibit), but that's not the point. Might want to add a nitrous clause there too.

It does move the power band up a little in rpm, and louder feels slower, but in all honesty, when your really getting after it, the power band is right where it should be with my setup and stock internals. I really love the sound at wot and 4500-6000. lt's and a moroso spiral flow have a very unique sound, and it is louder than hell, but doesent travel, i dont even have any drone at highway speeds, and best of all a spiral flow is 50 bucks lol.

Yeah I'm right with you, idle sounds cool but anything after that is just to loud. I'm also getting cats added I didn't get hi flow though i just got two 3" magnaflows from summit racing.

Yeah I'm going with spiralflows as well. I love the way they sound. I'm not expecting to get away wiith not having any drone but that would be a bonus
