Default Lt1 questions
I have a 93 z28 with a lt4 hotcam , bbk headders 2500 stall 3.73 gears 1.6 rockers msd with a 3" cutout exhaust with a few bolt ons shouldn't this car from a dead stop wanna get side ways just feels like no power from a stop but the mid range is awsome sounds mean as hell

I know but still should wanna get stupid from take off maybe cause of stk heads? This is my first lt1 experimenting

Did you get a PCM tune (chip burned since you have a 93) when you installed the hotcam?

Mine will burn the tires thru first and second with stock heads, but thats with street tires, if you have a very soft or sticky tire it will probably just hook and go. Or check your stall converter and make sure it is working good, maybe that is bad. Just a thought, post what you find out.

Most aftermarket tuners will burn you a ROM. I recommend www.pcmforless.com.

i have some toyo proxes ,stall converter has about 3k miles since was put in . i dont know i just got it back from the shop the speedometer quit working and the guy told me a gear was loose and it sheared a retainer $300 later i will see what happens after work could that have been a reason

Pcmforless, MadZ28, not sure if Ed wright does SD stuff but those are the popular names around here. Most can send you a chip that just piggybacks on your current plug so there is no down time having to ship off a computer and wait for it to come back. blah blah blah

Edit.. Are you sure its the tune? Checked all the plugs and wires? Fuel filter, what is the exhaust set up? cats slightly clogged?

How far back is the cutout? Maybe it needs to be back farther to build up a little back pressure.

my 94z28, with mods listed in my sig, can get all sideways in 1st, and 2nd gears.... it runs real solid...


you might need to check your catalytic converter, if its starting to get old and clogging its a bad power robber..
