That's always a pain in the ***. Take the dipstick out and lightly sand the tube part that goes into the block using a fine grit paper, then lightly oil the tube. Do NOT over-sand the tube or else you'll invite leaks. Try to sand it in a tapered fashion, so the tube at the bottom is more sanded than the top of the tube by the collar. Eventually, it will go back in.

Hey:

Slow94Formula I spoke too soon. Anyone out there have problems getting the dipstick tube into the motor?
Yes, Everyone, Getting the Dipstick back without leaks and bent just right is an art form. ^ Do as Joe says, and I'll repeat do not over sand, I also put a light film of Black RTV @the top portion of where it goes into the block/pan area to help it seal. I have done this about 8Xs between 5 cars and I hope I have it down pat by now, but it still can be fn pain. Good Luck

I didn't have to bend it, I had to motivate it.

Just bending it will work. SOmetimes getting it the blind hole! you will have to bend it a certain way to ease the installation! lmao

I would say getting the dipstick tube back in was the most difficult aspect of my header install. We got it in eventually, but it certainly wasn't a perfect re-entry.

Wow, I haven't seen steering linkage clearance that bad before. I'm not so sure what to tell you.

This was Cake .... Kinda

I moved the steering column over as much as poss. Then I notice the shaft was still a problem . So I busted out with the grinder and smoothed stuff out .

In the red I smoothed out the edges as much as needed , just keep putting on and your see how much more to go.

In the blue I grinned it till it was smooth with the bearing " The PINK CIRCLE "

You will have to do this to all -4- sides

The bolt will probably end up sticking out also like mine but you can either cut it flat with the shaft or get a shorter bolt.
