in the next few weeks i'm going to start putting my engine together, what i was wanting to refer back to in your post was the oil pan, and a few other things...

i have a vortec truck engine sitting right next to my block, and i think i'm going to rob the oilpan off of it and use it on my engine for the added capacity.
you stated you used the stock truck oilpump and pickup and pan, what kind of oil pressure are you running now? is it gm stock, or melling stock?

i'm guessing you removed the windage plate/baffle from the truck pan, so you could use the stock lt1 windage tray?

how much work was done to the heads, i'm not familiar with the rules you were following,i know some can be pretty strict, and some can be misinterpreted? i read just blueprinted, 3 angle valve job and lt4 springs, was any bowl blending done?

also was wanting to know what rack and pinion unit you were running in that build? s-10, again i'm just guessing..

Make sure that you get the big Vortec pan. It is listed for trucks with propane in the current GM listings. It is easy to spot because it has a longer step than the regular Vortec and LT1 pans. I run the Lt1 windage and cut the baffle out of the pan. The oil pump is stock GM with the stock low pressure spring. I think that we have about 40 PSI at idle cold. the rack kit came from Pete-Z.

This was taken last night. Jason looks like he just swallowed a bug!
