what would it take?

what would it take for my 6 speed '96 firebird Formula to run low 13's-12.7's in the quarter mile? how hard is it?

right now I've got pacesetter long tubes with 3 ory pipe so no cats and an slp loudmouth 1 catback and an intake. otherwise its stock.

Hard to say. Depends on the shape of the car and where your at.

Generally a good sixspeed car can run twelves with full Boltons.

Rockers, gears, tune, tires.

Edit- what are your current times?

id say underdrive pulley and some 373s and you would be set for your goal.

Underdrive pullies are a waste. Money is definitely spent better elsewhere.

A 4.10 gear would be a better choice for an M6. But the SINGLE best modification for an M6 car is a stick tire (if you don't mind putting your 10-bolt on the chopping block). It also helps if you can drive.

well the car has 80k orig miles, a fresh tune up. i ran a best of 14.01 at 103mph (cant launch for ****, it always bogs a bit then goes)

I'd start with the suspension, then tires. All the power in the world won't do you any good, if all it does is let the smoke out of the tires.

The thing about getting new gears is that the 10 bolt is a ticking time bomb. They dont hold up well after you freshen the gears up, is this true? I was thinking about getting new gears myself
