Default Water pump block off?

Did a heater core delete, looped my hose outlet/inlet together. Recently discovered my PS pulley was rubbing through the hose. Now i really have to cap off my water pump somehow. Any ideas short of welding? Freeze plugs, vacuum caps... sizes? Any links? Help is appreciated! (and needed badly)

I just capped mine off with rubber caps for a while. Then last winter I took my water pump to a machine shop and had the barbs cut off and the holes threaded. Screwed the caps in and it's been sealed ever since.

yep you can pull those fittings out of the pump that are pressed in there from GM......tap the holes and put plugs in them......if i can recall i think one of them was 1/2NPT and the other was 3/4NPT.....not sure IIRC check it out....

I removed the pipes and tapped the wholes you'll need a 1/2npt tap and a 3/8npt tap along with the plugs. I'll post some pictures later tonight.

hey i finally got it done man, took me a few days of searching to find those taps, finally found them at a little local hardware store and they weren't that cheap lol. Ended up working great. I threw some brass plugs in until my AN style plugs get here. I should start renting these taps out for 15 bucks...

Awesome! glad it worked out. Ya those taps are kinda pricey well for decent ones anyways. I was lucky and had some in my work service truck, so I didn't have to buy them. Renting them out would be a good Idea, Since it's not a tool you gonna be using all the time so it would save a guy wanting to do this job some cash and you could recoupe the money you spent on them. Win Win for everyone. Im gonna load my pics right now and post them up.

If you still needed it, no one would delete the heater core.
