Default Motor Mount Install

Hey guys. I am have to replace my opti soon, and I also have a pair of moroso solid motor mounts to install so I figured it would do it together over labor day weekend. I was wondering if anyone has any hints or tips to doing the motor mount install? I have done an opti before. I should have replaced my mm's when i put on my long tubes but I didnt know i needed them at the time. So do I just disconnect the old mm and jack up the engine with a 2x4 under the oil pan? Please tell me I dont have to disconnect the headers!!

Any advice would be appreciated

its easy with whole motor mount, not just the rubber. so do u have the whole motor mount or just the rubber part ?

He said solid motor mounts

I wouldnt use solid mounts in my car and I barely drive it. Youll hate them in a DD and theres no reason you need solid mounts for LTs. I have stepped headers and Stock motor mounts.

Im with achotrod if you're going to change motor mounts go with poly. If you DD the car you will hate solid mounts

Is it really that bad? I have read many debates and people with solids always say they arent as bad as everyone says. But i really dont know. I already have the solids though so I guess I will give them a try

Solid mounts will probably drive the knock sensor crazy.

Seems like everyone who has polys loves them, and everyone who has solids... loves them too. The only people who are saying bad stuff about the solids are the guys who have polys. Im not saying you guys dont know what your talking about but this thread is what convinced me to get the solids. That and i found them for new for a good price

Because of the extra vibration of the solid mounts it will make it think there is a problem and send a false knock message to the pcm and will then retard timing and richen the fuel mixture.

Well there have been plenty of guys who have solid motor mounts with no complaints so hopefully I am one of them! But back to the question at hand... do you guys have any tips for installing the mm's?

i dont see solid mounts affecting a knock sensor..
personally i wouldnt run a solid mount on a DD, i think it would shake the chassis apart after some time.. JMO!

i run solid cab mounts, solid engine mounts,solid frontend mounts, have the cab welded to my cage in my big block truck, running a poly trans mount... its cool as ****, but i couldnt stand to daily drive it, no way..
