New times!
Mods since last run... cutout....3500 tci stall, hayden trans cooler.
Best last time was a 14.445 with a 2.108 60'. Flowmaster catback, NT555r, Ebay intake.
DA for my best run was 1948ft.
first run
60' - 2.008 (spinning a tad, idle launch)
1/8 - 8.907 78.60 mph
1/4 - 13.914 97.88mph
second run
60' - 1.942 (1000rpm launch, no spin but not WOT)
1/8 - 8.875 78.23mph
1/4 - 13.911 97.22mph
Third run
60' - 1.994 (spinning like first run)
1/8 - 8.928 78.34mph
1/4 - 13.950 97.61mph
DA corrected times would be 13.59 @100.16mph. Im happy my 60's are under 2.0 now! they can be better but ill take it. I think a 1000rpm launch is what the converter likes, i didnt give it all it had and it still cut the best 60'. I must say, this was my first time cutting a sub 2 second 60', and its a freaking blast!
Everyone was complaining that the track was slick as well so maybe that had something to do with it. 160$ stall converter, 30$ cutout, half a second quicker...I'll take it! Need to start looking for the next budget mod. Im thinking headers and gears would be wise. Still needs leaks fixed and ignition tune up. not bad for the old 125k mile lt1!
its depressing that some people have gone 13.9's stock, but i think everyone at our track runs slow. sea level would be a different story

Yea the intake is one thing ive not liked, it was on the car when i got it, a ls1 lid conversion would be a fun swap.
car is on 315/35/17 nitto nt555r, i set them to 18psi, couldve dropped em to 15 i guess
wonder how much a real CAI would help, right now its just a short one that doesnt leave the engine bay. Ive been looking for a used one, theres a moroso on craigs for 100$ used, i think thats a bit pricey!

There's a bunch of cheap/free little things you can do to help. I'm surprised that you were spinning the 555's, the track must have really been shitty. Those tires are pretty good until you start running into the 12's. Do you have all of the free mods done? The biggest is the throttle body bypass. There is hot coolant pumping through the throttle body for guys who drive in cold weather climates. It keeps the throttle blades from freezing up. You obviously don't want hot coolant going there when you are at the track. It's easy to do yourself with some simple hoses and clamps. After that get a big bag of ice for the intake between rounds. Make sure you put a towel down so you don't drip water onto the motor and the starting line. Pump the front tires up rock hard. Get a good tire gauge and write down the tire pressure onto each timeslip. Write the temperature on each slip too. Practice different launching techniques, vary the rpm a little and see what happens. Take all of the unecessary weight out of the car, spare tire, air compressor, etc, etc. Leave the car in drive, DO NOT SHIFT IT!
What gears are in the car right now?

car has 3.23 gears. unfortunatly i dont want 4.10's, 3.73's is the highest id go.
Last time out i didnt spin at all. When i first got there a guy in a non turbo supra said the track was slippery, I said well with Drag radials hopefully ill be ok. Every car i raced i came off the line waaaay better, and in actuality i was only 4 hundreths away from a 1.8 60'. One thing that suprised me the most was that it was a huge temp difference, but according to the DA was only a 200 foot change in elevation. 1948ft vs 2200ft last time out.
Throttle body bypass is next on the list. maybe some weight reduction as well. Ive only made 7 passes in this car so i guess there is still some dialing in to do.
What do you mean by air compressor? a/c or the air pump for the emissions.
EDIT: wow, im truely blown away, this car has been kind of a pile of junk, it needed quite a bit of work. ive spent all my time under the hood cuz its been neglected. Just checked, it does have a spare tire in it, im freaking amazed. goes to show how long ive had the car

wallaceracing.com has a calculator that you can play with the temp, humidity and track hight to see what diff conditions will do to your time.
i forgot what weather site you can use that will give you the past weather conditions at times and such per zip code..im sure you can find it with some searching but its a great toll to use for going back to see an form data..get a note book and just start making notes in it like pass with certian tire pressures, condtions, long burn out vs short, lauch rpms and notes..it will help out.

^ i use that calc, the dragtimes.com one.
The conditions last time were 78º , 41% humidity, 29.95 pressure and the alt was 2200 ft. This time it was 72º, 37% humidity, 29.84 pressure - 1900ft.
My best last time, at sea level wouldve been 14.075 @100mph. This time me best at sea level wouldve been 13.605 @100mph ( i got 13.599 last night?).
I need a night with pressure above 31.00
