How was Bowling Green, and Beech Bend? I wanted to come watch, but personal issues prevented that from happening. You guys had great weather, right? It seemed there was a lot going on in BG this weekend.

Thanks for all the kind words. Gump has been rode pretty hard over the last 15 years. That 127 MPH pass got me thinking about how upset I would be if I were to tag the wall. Gump is also probably the last AC-Delete Firebird ever built. My plan is to restore her (still as a race car) and go to a few car shows for fun.

As far as Veronica goes, I'm glad that you guys liked her. I kind of like her. I guess she's a keeper too!

Gizmo,

Is that a 92-93 LT1 manifold on that LT4? Kind of hard to see with the glare. Just asking because I have a '93 manifold I plan to mate up to some LT4 heads. Sorry to see about that loose rod, I was really looking forward to your results (although 127mph speaks volumes). Thanks,

Larry

Im about 99% sure that is a 92-93 intake and what I think is the best choice in LT1 intakes as far as out of the box performance. When ported "im sure Gizmo's is stock casted but dont quote me " the 92-93 really come alive and also the aluminum casting process is much better in these early year LT1 manifolds. You can cut through a 94-97 like butter then you get a 92-93 and its such a tighter casting with very little pores. You can tell a difference in the pitch of sound when porting the two intakes with a good carbide bit.

By the way I love "Gump" always was a motivating car after seeing your first engine bay shots a few years ago.

Daren,

Great seeing you again this year! Make sure you bring Veronica next year too. My wife refuses to go, but I'm always working on it. One day she may change her mind.

the event was awesome, the weather and venue was too. Oh, and i'm quite partial to A/C delete cars...especially in the Formula wrapper! Great meeting you! Shon was too wrapped up in trying to put something together to climb back up on top of the LTX mtn and didn't realize who you were! We'll see ya next year.

It's an LT4 intake that's had a little work done to it!

From experience, I feel that the 1992-93 is the best LT1 casting.
