Default Hot Cam + N2O

Who is running the hot cam with n2o? I have a chance to pick up a hot cam for 100 bucks and I was wondering how it likes the juice. Gonna be with bolt ons. Headers, gears, stall, cai, true duals, no cats, E85, injectors, etc. Thanks guys

You could probably find a better cam for $100-$150 bucks (if used cams is your kind of thing). From what I have heard, the hotcam doesn't mind juice..

before we went carbed, we had the lt4 kit and sprayed 150 at it all the time. It ran good.

it depends what your goals are. if you are going to be spraying a lot a custom nitrous cam might be a better option for you.

If you're running a reasonable shot it'll be fine. I've known a few people who had the hotcam and used the squeeze and they all ran well.

The HC is a very good nitrous cam, Being split duration. And as of this past Sunday, my wife ran a 7.79@89.97mph (1/8th) with a 150 shot in her 4200lbs Impala SS with HC, Alum heads, LT's, CAI, and BH tune, Performabuilt 4l60/3000 stall, 3.73 gears on MT drag radials.
It also has a MSD Dig 6 and digital window switch, on at 3000 off at 6100. Car ran great till the purge solenoid started leaking.

Well I was thinking of getting heads later on so I should probably go bigger than the HC? Was looking last night at Lloyd Elliott's cams and they looked pretty good. I am mainly looking for a cam that won't kill me on stock heads but if I get ported heads, I want something I could benefit off of. Was thinking a 125 or 150 shot max on the stock bottom end. I plan on putting most the money in the suspension and this will be a partial DD. New to the LT1 world. I know a decent amount about LS1 stuff but got a great deal on this car so I grabbed it. Thanks

I liked my Hotcam on nitrous. But I like my new cam better. Went from 12.0 @ 111mph to 11.6 @ 119 mph. And My tune is garbage lol

If you haven't read the sticky already, it may help you make a good decision

I read it, but didn't see anything about it with spray. Thanks for all the help guys. I think I will just wait around and find a different cam. HC seems to work well, but I want a little more the more I read. I really want to keep the LT1 in it just to **** off all the local LS1 boys. Be more fun I think lol.
