Can these stock rods be ID'd?
Going to finish teardown tomorrow but before I do can these rods be ID'd from these casing numbers? The car was built in November 1993 and from what I've been reading GM started using "powdered metal" rods mid 1994.
Been reading conflicting answers wether this is good or bad. The plan is to have the stock rotating assembly zero balanced, rods and main replaced with ARP bolts, honed with new rings, coated cam bearings, etc. But as I've found out the deeper I get into it, plans changed.
So what I'm looking to find out is wether these stock rods will survive a cam that wants to use the upper rpm range between 6500-6700 rpm. Thanx
