11.4x's are entirely possible. Get your 60-foot down.

You will definetly get quicker as time goes on. The first pass I made with my LE2 setup the car went a best of 11.88 at 114mph w/ 1.65 60' in 90 degree air. A year later after some minor tweaks I've gotten that down to a best of 11.47 at 119mph w/ 1.5x 60' again in bad weather. I still need to do a few things like ditch my 3.73's, run 28" tires, get a k-member etc. etc. and run the car in some good weather and I hope to run bottom 11's. In time there is no reason you won't be able to do so as well, good luck man.

agree with everything said. Just get the 60 ft downa dn the car will run much better.

Good job for first time out. Sucks you only get 3 runs though.

so i called ATI first thing monday morning. got a tech guy on the phone who i must say was a no b/s type of guy nodoubt. when i explained what happened, he straight up said hell no that converter isn't gonna work for motor passes. when you ordered it you stated you were gonna use atleast a 150hp shot of nitrous with more possible. so the converter is way to tight for just motor passes. lol, talk about getting right to the point. which was way cool in my opinion. i surly didn't want any stories about try this or try that.

so he told me to go back on the 1st and run a few passes on a 150hp and 200hp shot and call him back on the next monday. i thought that was pretty damn cool of him. he told me to decide if i like the way it ran on the nitrous and want to keep it the way it is or if i want to send it back and get a couple hundred bucks off an all motor converter. pretty damn fair if ya ask me, considering i am the one that made the choice of converter to start with.

what he recommended for an all motor converter is an 8" 4200 stall, and that i would need to change my gears to 4.30's. and with that combo i would see 11.20's and be much faster on the street too. so decisions, decisons????

what i was thinking, and this is just an idea??? was to keep the ati 9" 3600 for track days that i want to use the nitrous and buy an 8" 4200 for the street and if i want to just run the motor at the track?? it's pretty damn quick to swap out conveters on the lift.

You gotta be careful and know what kind of car you built. If you want a street car that 4.30 gear is probably to steep and wouldn't be good for cruising any faster that 45mph. At 3000rpm your car won't me making that much power and the converter will have minimum slip so a 4200 isn't too high. Heat is what kills the tranny. If you had a 4l60E I would rock the 4.30's but with that TH400 I wouldn't run anything higher than a 4.10 w/ a 28" tire. That's if you street drive kinda often. I drive about 30-45 miles for street action so I need something that's gonna turn some MPH down the street. It would definitley be faster with what ATI wants to sell you. It's all give a little take a little.

I dunno.........but to me it seems so obvious what to do: Leave everything as it is! Seriously, any more than the 3600 converter and it's gonna be blowing the tires off on the street anyway. Same for the gears.
My car currently has an ATI 4200 in it for good NA performance on the strip, but the Yank 3600 was a much better converter with this motor on the street. It wasn't lacking at all with street tires.
If I were you, the ONLY reason I'd change converters would be to maximize NA performance at the strip.
