Will a bullet muffler soak up HP?

Will a bullet muffler soak up HP? How much if any HP does a bullet muffler welded in the I-pipe of my magnaflow cat-back soak up? And what size bullet do I need and what brand is the best? Will it totally quiet down the exhaust? In just looking to eliminate the rasp during WOT. I already have a FM merge on my off road y-pipe.

There are basically two different kinds of bullets. Chambered like powersticks and stainless werks, and glasspacks like dynomax, summit brand, etc etc. Both kinds should flow really well and will tone down the exhaust slightly based on the length of the muffler. Listen to as many sound clips as you can to decide which is best for you.
I use to have a Dynomax bullet in my I pipe, but swapped it for a Powerstick Bullet, it's a true 3 inches through and doesn't neck down so there shouldn't be a loss. It gave a deeper tone to my cat back and got rid of most of the rasp.

i race my car with two of the 3" dynomaxes off of my headers......quiets it down alot so i dont go deaf and the car doesn't loose anything.......they actually help me because it eliminates any reversion on my WB02's on the XFI

Look Into the glasspack and stay away from the ones that the perferated holes go into the flow path, very disruptive and comparatively restrictive, Dynomax perferations go out away from the flow.
