Id say go a little bigger than that simply due to the fact that its a heavy impala, but considering your stall is barely bigger than stock that cam and some LE1 heads would work out great for you. And there is absolutely no difference between the LT1 and LT4 intakes internally, the only difference it the LT4 has extra material above where the intake ports are. LT1 to LT4 is not like LS1 to LS6.

I do like LE.
I just think AI has the edge with their package deal and consistent valvetrain setups. For somebody not completely knowledgeable about this stuff, I'll recommend AI every time.

same here.....the fastest BBodys i saw down in BG had the AI topends......and the fastest NA Fbody did too .....congrats to you two guys......i was VERY VERY impressed with your cars....it was awesome to see a huge car like that move like they did......I even saw some front tires grabbing air!!!! AWESOME!!!

back to the OP yes LE does have some very good offerings I'm not going to knock him at all.....it all matters on your budget and goal and when it comes down to it....what YOU want to do.....either way good luck with the build!!!

So I took a look at AI's stuff, seems pretty solid as well. I noticed they really don't have cam selections when you get their head/cam combo. They make a cam tailored to your vehicle based on all the information on it? How has that works for everyone on here? They are also a little higher, but if you guys say the extra price is worth it, then we may get those.

I guess I can shoot them an email and see what kind of grind they come up with for our setup.

Chris,

Very well in my case, and every other case I know of. I've spec'd cams for engine builds and had great results, but they have lots more data/experience with successful combinations to draw upon.

Chris,
Again, see the sig. AI tailored a cam to my needs and it delivered and then some. You definitely get what you pay for.
