Default ls1 lids....

where are people finding these cheap for the conversion? ive been trying to locate a deal on a used one. A brand new SLP on ebay is 92$ shipped to my door. 3 people have wanted 100-125$ for used ones.

Does anyone know any body who has one that isnt claiming it as gold? I figured i could find a used one for 30-45$, no such luck tho. i dont care what brand it is.

You're going to need to buy a lower air box as well as pipes to connect to the MAF and throttle body, not just the lid.

You don't have to use the lower air box a lot of people do it with out. Also the coupler can be bought at home depot or lowes

from what ive gathered if your not scared to fab and cut and remount, you can use all the stock parts and just buy a silicone or rubber connector. the air filter can be secured between the rad support and the radiator with a few screws going through the front edge of the ls1 lid.

you cant use the lower airbox with a stock firebird hood. need a ws6 hood at the minimum...

I got lucky and got a CF lid, K&N filter and lower airbix for $75 off CZ28 just by being the first to reply to the post.

I bought a stock lid for 25bux with a k&n filter. Should be in tomorrow. I also got the lower radiator base for 60bux. Actually bought two bases with an extra k&n filter. When the lid comes in I will begin fabbing something up. I have the stock camaro hood. Anyone ever done it with a stock camaro? I'm gonna use JoeliusZ28's write up. It looks really detailed!

^^ they do, its just a peice of plastic! then they get all offended when you offer them a cheap amount for their peice of plastic that they arnt using. I guess with LT1's doing the conversion they think they are gold...psh...them ls1 owners are just skurred.

Question guys.

Anyone ever use the stock lid? I got it in today and noticed the air opening is oval or oblong shaped?!?!?!?! Its not round like I originally thought. Is this normal or did I get the wrong piece?? And how do I make it work now. I wanted a stock lid to do the fabbing up and then if everything looks good, I was gonna upgrade for an SLP lid.
