Im really sorry to hear that man, i totally know what your feeling. my builder always said no warranty, but if it blew up in 200 miles, or even 2000 miles that would be unacceptable. If he doesnt work with you, cause as much dollar parts in damage to his car as it is going to cost to replace everything

That's the stock replacement type rod. I wouldn't ever run that over 350hp or so. We always use the Scat pro I beam with 7/16 ARP capscrews. It's really the only one that has a chance of surviving in a good performance application.

OP: I hate it for you about your new engine. That's really terrible. A stock rebuilt shortblock should have lasted a long time with ported heads and a HR cam. It wasn't like you were spraying the crap outta it, or turning 7500+ RPM with a solid roller.

I'm pretty interested on what happened. I wish there wasn't a hole in your block, I've fixed some blocks that have thrown a rod before by getting my machinist to sleeve them. Are you looking to do a rebuild from the ground up or buying a shortblock, hopefully nothing happened to your heads.

I bet your crankshaft is trashed though. I hate seeing broken engines, but especially when they were just overhauled.

Sorry to hear about the news...that's never good.
Hope somebody will do something for you, and not leave you hanging and have all of this on you.
BTW, depending on what route you go, I've got a full LT1 drivetrain pull-out (engine, trans, harness, pcm) from my '97 with 79,8XX miles.
Looking forward to seeing pics of what went wrong, I'm sure several here will chime in with definite causes.

so last night i was finishing a few little things before i pull the motor tomorrow. i pulled the intake so id have more room pulling it. and i couldnt believe what i found. i have never seen anything like this before ever. 1 lifter was just gone and pushrod as well, everything look perfect accept 1 lifter vanishing in to the lifter bore. i found a couple of the needle bearings from the roller in the valley rocker are guide plate and everything in prefect shape. i assume the lifter some broke, they were brand new ls7 lifters. i shined my flashlight down in the lifter bore and could even see the cam lol. ill have pics of the destruction on saturday hopefully.
