Take the car apart and only put back what you must have. Look for ounces instead of pounds. I can run Gump a little below 3000 lbs with me in the drivers seat. The same goes for the kids car.

idk whats done inside but lightweight carpet all the rear seat brackets and unneeded brackets that are under the carpet add up some. i think i saw the little AC bracket still hangin in your engine bay that kind of stuff can go. there's a ton of stuff that doesnt weigh much but in the end it all adds up. look at the weight reduction sticky and see wat u feel can go.

lexan is a great idea, i'd just double check the classes u plan on running in prior to doing it, i know some dont allow lexan.

Tony don't get on the lexan kick. He doesn't need it. He's got plenty to lose before that. I'll post more ideas when I'm not stuck at the airport on my phone.

Looking good Mike, I would like to get some weight out of my heavy *** car before the shootout next year but, the funds for lightweight parts aren't in the budget right now.

I will be watching for that 9 sec slip come spring.

sweet man! i dn how u do it, i'd wanna pull my hair out when it comes to stripping an engine harness lol. i wouldnt even know where to start! yea i could imagine doing gaskets on an engine stand being 10x easier. plus like u said u can clean everything up and paint the engine bay. hmmmm from ur facebook status and what not it seems like u have some secrets, does re-head gasketing the motor hav something to do with it?? hmmmmm
