No used the stock cable just drilled a small hole on the back side of the wheel and ran it through...really easy like 15 mins

GREAT!! I am glad it fixed it for you!! I use 2 gauge...may be overkill but it has been working a while

How's this for funny, and quite related. I was just chasing this exact same issue on my car. Powdercoated Alternator housing, AND powdercoated the accessory bracket. First put it all together.....got about 10 volts. Then it hit me...powdercoat. Filed the mounting points clean on the alternator and the accessory bracket. Got it up to 13 volts, but still short......then it REALLY donned on me.......backside of the accessory bracket where it touches the motor. Damn........should have had some foresight there. Grounding strap here I come.

yep ive had a low voltage prob in my car since day one always ran around 13ish and at WOT it would drop to like 12.3....this explains it cause i had my original bracket all painted and the block too so my original ground wasn't even that good........i put that strap on it last night and for the first time ever i saw 14.2 volts at my XFI and ignition box I'm souped!!! More spark!!! lol

i know i could possibly make a wee bit more power now with the ignition getting full voltage........every bit helps!!!! going from 12.2 to 14.5 volts has gotta make the spark stronger!!
