Anyone have ported head pics they would like to share?

Ahhhh, the mystery is solved. I new it was a strange *** finish but found no reason to question it. I've only really heard of that being used on pistons. Its grippy like 1500 grit wet sandpaper, but smooth to the touch.
I assure you, with enough money people will go through what ever effort you want them to. I am expecting somewhere between around 600hp NA on my build, but I have no hard numbers yet - I am chasing an ET more then a HP number. FWIW Desktop Dyno claimed 638hp(yea, right
) with a 242int LE4 HR cam, but I expect that number to be optimistic even though I will probably run a larger cam then that.
For less bench racing, and numbers they have already made, I think they made somewhere around 1100 on a 383 with a pair of hair dryers on them IIRC. Wasn't my build so I don't know all the specifics.
Its been a while, but think i used a monkey wrench to get mine off with the heads out of the car. I remember the passenger side head's steam pipe bolt being a bit of a pain in the ***, and a plain wrench stripped it.
Save the cash and don't bother with the way overpriced dealer replacement bolts and pipe - you can either be super cheap and use pipe fittings and high temp rubber hose, or NPT fittings and braided line for them. All you need is two lengths of hose(one short from one head to the other, one long for the other head to radiator), an "L" adapter for one head, and a "T" fitting for the other.
