Default LT1 OBD1 vs OBD2 tuning software.

I have a 96 TA (OBD2) that I’m turbo charging 5-8 psi 500-550 RWHP.

Out side of the cost and the limited licensing witch one do you prefer,
OBD1 or OBD2 is one better that the other?

It looks like Jet and LT1 edit are the only choices of OBD2.

I down loaded the Jet demo, it looks very complex.

I prefer OBD1...It deletes the rear O2's and Crank Position Sensor without having to tune them out, and it has been much easier to get into. All you need to do to make it OBD1 is the 94/95 PCM, a 93-95 LT1 Knock Sensor, and a 95 LT1 Tuning Cable. Then you can use Tunercats, TunerPro, etc etc etc.

Took me all of 30 min to do the OBD1 Swap....also its cheaper however I recommend socketing your PCM and having extra flash chips that are already programmed and ready to go just in case you fry one.....ask me how I know lmao

It seems that the OBD1 is the more popular of the two.

It deletes the rear O2's and Crank Position Sensor.

I understand the reason for the rear O2 delete but is there an advantage
to deleting the crank position sensor?

OBD1 is easier to tune. People with heavy mods that don't require an aftermarket computer find that OBD1 tends to be more forgiving.
