So you're saying you build the motor around the converter, not the converter around the motor and car setup?

Rear end will eventaully be a 12 bolt.
As for the cam i was thinking either AIs 230 / 238 - .575/.575 - 110 LSA or their 234 / 242 - .575/.580 - 110 LSA
i need it to be very drivable cause this will be my daily driver for a while. but i want good power as well.

so i think i will be going with AIs 200cc heads and cam along with their full valve train package and ported intake.
I run the AI 200cc heads and baby cam.It is very streetable and as far as performance look at my sig in a 4000 lb plus car. Talk to Ron/Phil and tell them your setup and what you want out of the car and they will match a setup for optimal performance.

CID determines heads, those two determine cam, those three then determine stall.

Naw, that's too simplistic. There are some other variables to consider like C.R., exhaust system, rear end gear ratio, trans type, intended use, idle quality, gas mileage, emissions, probably some more I can't think of right now.

Okay well my compression ratio will be around 12 to 1, me exhaust is pacesetter longtubes y pipe and tsp rumbler. but will be switching to GMMG in the near future. rear end gears will be 3.73s,trans is a performabuilt level 2, car will be 90% street with a little track use. so i need the idle to be decent i dont care about gas mileage and it would be nice to pass emissions but if not im okay with that aswell.

Now i have been planning on running Lloyd Elliot LE2 heads and cam. But when i took a look at Advanced Inductions website there 200cc heads seem to make a little more power and also offer a full valve train package.

So i guess what i want to know is what have been your guys experience with these companies?

is one better than the other?

Also should i have AI port my intake or should i have someone els do it cause they seem to be a little pricey on that. or is it worth it?

thanks guys
From posts on a LOT of different Forums, both are excellent to deal with and have many fully satisfied customers.

Last I read AI had the intake manifold porting nailed. This was mentioned in one of the magazines. No price was given and I haven't read any posts from anyone actually having AI port theirs. Maybe he/she will chime in.

You might want to look into Extrude Hone to see what they offer about the intake.

Just another option to consider.

Okay so what size cam do you guys think i should go with?

And i would be really happy if i could get into the 11s on motor. cause i was originally looking for 12s and then 11s on spray.

also i have never heard of extrude hone. any info about them? anyone use them?

Numbers in sig with AI 200cc heads, Performabuilt Level 2 stall, 3.90s, 4000 stall, mild stroker cam, all of the typical bolt-ons, and fully ported AI intake manifold. Screw, 12s and 11s on motor, shoot for 10s while still maintaining excellent streetability.

Just copy Joe's setup above. Don't reinvent the wheel...tried and true is way better.

Call Phil or just order a 228-234 sized cam for your 383. Ai can spec you a whole package.
