Not bad for your first time out. Im having the same issue with my car now that I put 28" tires on it. It hooks hard then just falls flat on its face. At 15 psi it just roasts 1st gear and at 12 psi it hooks then bogs. I need to find that sweet spot to where is spins just enough to keep the momentum going. With a M6 you need some tire or clutch slip to make good passes either that or tons of TQ or huge gears.

Don't be discouraged; keep hacking away at it. Then, once the bugs are worked out, concentrate on taking home the trophy and the $$. For me winning in competition is "where it's at" compared to pieces of paper with numbers on it.

Concentrate on the car's consistency and your reaction times is my advice. Once I began winning in competition my whole prospective changed. I'm just a very competitive person. Of course, your mileage may vary.

Good luck,

Jake

Gets old watching everyone fawn over mediocrity.

I ran 11.9s with the old cam he had in his stock shortblock. IMO had he put good heads and his old cam in a stock shortblock he should be running faster than this.

Those times arent really that bad. And besides the fact that it was his first time out, and its a full street car. Many variables with driver mod and everything to say thats all it'll do. Either way, thats a pretty mean *** street car!

Internet Experts get really old too. He stated he has issues, knows he has issues, and has intentions of working those issues out and going faster!

I know there are a lot of people who want a fast car for bragging rights and status, and those are the ones who jizz all over themselves to have just another cookie cutter setup.

Those people take no pleasure in "a work in progress".

My car started out running low 14's up here, and now has 10sec potential. and I had fun every step of the way getting faster and faster.

You people are so quick to condemn someone unless they post a time that you think is impressive, without thinking for a damn second that maybe they are having fun instead of trying to brag about their accomplishments or challenge yours.

There will always be someone faster, and if you cant have fun with what you have, and learn to make it faster over time, you should probably quit and find a new hobby.

And here's something else for you. Lets see you put street tires on, 3:23 gears, and pull a **** load of timing out of your tune and richen it up for nitrous, and run a better time than him.

Your **** ET's ok but 116 is pretty weak dude.

And dont cry to us about having a heavy *** lead sled, you're the one who bought it and built it. If you want to be handicapped for that, maybe you should go race diesel trucks or something where 13's is considered fast.

Fact is, your car would be LUCKY to run a 12 if it was setup like his.

Just enjoy your accomplishments and ******* leave everyone else alone.

Thumbs up

Damn, you guys are tough!
My car ran a 15.5 first time at the track.........are you going to **** all over it too?
He didn't come on here bragging. For someone admitting that he needs practice driving a stick, and with the noted issues with the car, look for both his ET and trap to improve significantly as he works through them.

He has the same gear as I do. why do I need 3.23s????

My car ran 12.7 on my old setup, 190cc heads 226/234 cam 3.73s 3400 stall on 27" street tires at over 4300lbs., slicks and tools were in the trunk. I define "street tires" as Bridgestone Potenzas a real street tire.

Good lord, every post I open up in this forum seems to be full of smart *** comments. I am researching buying a nice LT1 car and have neen lurking around for a while but might go somwhere else now. Not everyone goes to the strip every time the doors open and have 10 second stock bottom end LT1.

To be honest that doesn't sound too credible. I would be very weary of the tune - the tune is EVERYTHING.
