Do a search for my install. I went with ap1ap2's headers. They did require some beating to get it to fit 100% but for $300 it was worth it for me.

Those are the pacesetter knockoffs, those are the ones that I wanted too, hopefully they will start making them again.

Is it the headers or the car that requires some beating?

Just get pacesetters if thats the market your in. I have not had experience with either Ebay or PS, but I think its safe to say PS>Ebay. PS should offer "better" install ease and fitment as well. I dont think PS are much more than 300, with the Y. JMO.

That ^^^ and the ebay headers are only 1 5/8" primarys. Then if you get the stepped ones they are 1 5/8" to 1 3/4". IMO just save the coin and get some LPPs (if you can still get them) they are stepped 1 3/4" to 1 7/8". Or the Kooks if you've reached baller status LOL

At least thats the research that I have come up with.

the ones i got from ap1ap2 were not 1 5/8" primarys. They were in fact a tiny bit over 1.750" stepped to 1.875" Theyve been on the car for months. Driving through all kinds of rain and dirt. Nothing on the headers but the color of hot stainless. They require some finessing, yes. but theyll last forever..

im going to be wrapping them soon. GL wrapping mild steel headers. Theyll rust up real bad.

Do not buy ebay headers, they are POS's. I have some on my car and cyl. 2 primary rubs the spark plug wire loose, and I have tried just about everything I even use stock plug wires because I burned through all my MSD wires and have header wrap and boot covers.

The only headers I would have recommended from ebay were the ones from eworldsales1, but they are out of production at the moment. With headers you get what you pay for. I bought Gen 2 LPPs for $450. With like new stock motor mounts I have no rubbing anywhere, didnt hammer anything and spark plug wires clear easily. Spend a little money and get a name brand.

Don't wrap ANY header if it sees any amount of street time. Header wrap is terrific for retaining moisture, and despite the stainless headers being stainless, they will eventually start to corrode and rust. Not to mention header wrap is also a fire hazard as it loves to soak up oil too.

I got these aswell. My passenger side fit no problems but the drivers side needed a tiny dent for the k member and lots of clearancing for the steering linkage. There a pita but very worth the 310 shipped paid. The y pipe fit good just had to cut a peace off the stock I pipe and I band clamped everything together. Came out very nice. They are 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 steped stainless with a ORY.

Never herd if this even with regular old SBC stuff that I'm used to. I've had no problems with burning wires on mine. I have Taylor 8mm in the stock little POS brackets. Must me an ls1 problem your taping about.

Just pull the trigger and get them you'll be very happy after the fitting is done.
