Default Opti install gone wrong

Im officially a moron, I installed the opti on by force and tried to crank the car and it wouldn't crank right, so I took it all apart and this time the opti slid right one and was flush. I put everything back together. I did all of this in a stunning 24 minutes. I turned the key and boom the car started on the first click. I wanted to know could I have messed up anything else by installing the opti wrong the first time?

It's possible yes. You'll just have to run it and find out.

Optis are a crap shoot, some live for years, other die in days. Hate these things for that reason.

installed one on a friends car earlier today along with my own a while back. (95-up cars) seems like with the o-rings it takes a little force to slide them in

The GM service books has at least 3 warning messages just for an opti installation, One is don't get it wet, the other is don't let anything fall into the opti, and the last one tells you not to draw it on with the bolts. It really depends how long its going to last. If you didn't draw it on with the bolts it could stay together for awhile.

Yep - what he said - I'm on my 7th.

I can do the whole procedure now (jack stands up to tools cleaned and put away) in less than 2 hours.
