New Dyno Numbers
I just got my 96 Trans Am WS6 dyno tuned yesterday at Nitro Dave's in Waco, Tx. The number were only 297rwhp and 321rwtq. I have fully ported and polished heads flowing 276 intake and 198 exhaust w. a 1.56 exhaust and 2.00 intake, a port-matched intake, edelbrock shorties, and comp xe268H-10 comp w/ duration 224/230 w/ 110 lobe sep.. How do these numners look compared to these mods. I still have the stock trottle body and stcok exhaust w/ flomaster muffler. How much more power do you think could be gained w/ a 52 mm throttle body, LT headers, and full catback? Thanks.

30-40 tops. the stock throttle body will flow plenty for those numbers. the long tubes will help the most because you will pick up a good bit of torque. the stock piping is 2 7/8th's so going to a 3 inch wont really make much difference. a single 3 inch is more than enough for a 350hp motor. if you get a chance put a sound byte on here with that cam, i would like to hear it.
The stock exhaust is probably choking the engine. The Blowmaster probably is not helping much, either. A guy where I live just pulled 356rwhp with stock heads on his LT1. Of course he has longtubes.

It was a dynojet dyno and I gained 33 hp and 22 lbft/tq after the tuning. Any ideas on what could be holding me at such a low point. Would the cheapest option be to get hooker long tubes and true duals or a modest catback? Thanks. And I will have pics of the graph soon.
Swap to some coated Hooker Longtubes w/ an X-pipe, your choking the hell out of your motor with that stock exhaust and those crappy eddy shorties. Do that and a tune and you should see a lot more HP (hopefully). The Edelbrock shorties blow ***, I have them. Might want to do the TB too, Good luck. New heads would help, but if your on a tight budget might as well stick with the ported stock ones. With those heads ported, if your sticking NA, you might as well go with a Comp 306 cam (230/244 .510/.544 112LSA) as well to boost power.
This is a before and after view of the dyno tuning. I am still at a loss at where to start looking for any reasons for the low numbers. It threw no codes and had no probs on the dyno. On the drive after, threw a code for dead O2 sensor, no biggie. Let me know what yall think. Its an M6 car, pulls in 4th gear.
Get some longtubes. On my stock LT1 motor with SLP cold air, vortech intake bellow, Hooker LT's and a dr. gas open 3" X-pipe i made 304 rwhp, and 338 rwtq. You should definitly get long tubes. The x-pipe really helps out on tq.
