Default Question about how much oil should be coming out of rockers

im getting mixed feeling about how much oil is supposed to come out the rockers on our lt1's ...

recent full rebuild mods in sig

mine has amazing oil pressure cold hot idle you name it but when i was doing another valve adjustment with the engine running seemed to me oil just weeps out rather than squirt is this normal any input would be great. or even a video hahah

its just the dam comp ultra pro magnun rockers are annoying sewing machines lol

just wanna make sure my car is all good

thanks

A slow to moderate trickle is more than enough. Some people mistake the rocker/spring action splashing the oil for the rockers actually squirting. Definitely not the case.

At idle, that's fine. Oiling will increase with engine RPMs/oil pressure.

At high rpms there will be a lot of oil on that top end, it only seeps out at idle.

I just started my motor last night without a valve cover on to look over everything...didn't even splash outside the head at idle.

With the valve covers on take off your oil cap and get a good flashlight and throttle it up. You will definitely see an increase in the amount of oil pumped to the rockers. Wouldn't recommend it with valve covers off!

^obviously dont rev it up with the valve covers off, but at idle it's fine just to look over everything.

humor me for a minute...what lifters do you have? I noticed a big difference in the amount of oil getting to the top at idle with the LS style lifters vs stock LT1 lifters during a recent build.

yes i am using the LS7 lifters and yeah at idle it does just dribble

oil pressure hot at idle is 40psi cold is around 65psi

im pretty sure nothing is wrong but i just wanted to ask but it just didnt seem right at first and the annoying rockers made me skeptical lol
