Sounds about right. 1 hour labor to bleed, and .5 hours to hook up tech...hence the stealership.

I'm curious though, if you know how to install the brakes, why can't you just bleed them?

SJM manufacturing has ABS deletes for 150$. What's stopping you from bleeding your brakes? You shouldn't need to bleed the ABS with a tech 2 unless it got drained. I know some cars even have ABS bleeders, mine does.

My 97 has bleed valves on the abs. When I did my LS1 brake swap I just bleed the brakes a bit and then Bleed the ABS and then bled the abs again untill I got the air out. Have not had a problem since.

That is not unreasonable assuming they do exactly to GM spec. Just do it and have piece of mind. Afterall, its your brakes.

The going rate for most shops is 90 to over 100 an hour as well as most shops charging a minimum of an hour for most work done.

my dealership charges 132/hr brake flush is 160 so consider it to be cheap. do you have a preassure bleeder? if you replaced calipers let them gravity bleed and then go through the bleed procedure

I have simply used a pressure bleeder (motive) on both vettes and if I suspect air in the ABS module I take it out on the road and lock up the tires to accuate the ABS and that purges any air. Come back home and bleed again. Problems solved. If you still have problems, I would suspect trouble somewhere in the system that needs correcting.

Not really. Get the old caliper off and the new one on as quick as you can then bleed that wheel as normal.

Get a "Phoenix injector" and do the reverse bleed procedure with it. The DIY kit is about 80 bucks and you will never have to pay anyone to bleed your brakes or clutch again.

this is true to my understanding and result if you drain the system then yea.. but just swap out your calipers quickly not to loose as little fluid as possible then normal bleed method will sufice
