Default LT1 vs and evo

Hey guys just trying to get ur oppinions, what do you think the outcome will be with a bolt on lt1 against a bolt on evo. Not sure which yr evo but not brand new probably early 2000's.

It depends on how much boost the eve is running and what kind of gas. I've seen a lot of "bolt-on" evos run in the 12s
Edit: just read what youput about the year. The earlier evos are slower the evo 9s are quite a bit faster

Be careful is all I gotta say my friend has an Evo that made 446awhp with a messed up tune boost leak and overheating.

It all depends on how much boost he's running and how well the LT1 is running...I'd say it'd be a close race in perfect conditions, but the upper hand might be to the evo if he's running high boost.

i dunno, my buddy has a modded gsx eclipse and he got beat last night by the evo. So I was just trying to get an idea of how fast his eclipse is and how well a bolt on lt1 would hang. I know im not full bolt ons but im getting there so hopefully i can hang with his gsx i think its a 96

Evo 8's stock are generally like mid-high 13's. All depends how much mods he has. Just mod your car and feel better about it

Hopefully the Evo driver doesn't fit the douchebag stereotype like 99% of them do

Here's an awesome high quality video of me racing a bolton evo 9 from a 25 roll when I was making 375rwhp.

robsquikz28, Nice race, your brother handled him no problem. The Mexican in the car was scared to race you, "Yo tengo miedo". Translation literally, "I have a scare", but more like I am scared to race that car.

have u run ur car at the track? jw what kinda numbers u ran. are you manual or auto? do u have drag radials or a good tire?

drivers race...but by judging by ur mods in ur sig i think the evo will win. ive seen stock evos trap over 100, if the guy knows how to launch a awd car and shift right, or if he brake boosts from a roll u might be in some trouble.. them evos can get pretty nasty with more boost and a tune... u can see what my 2.0 wrx did in my sig with just 301 awhp(the sti turbo is smaller than stock evo turbos)

bone stock with a broken tranny mount my car did a 14.2 at 98 mph. Now I have the mods in my sig and it feels a bit quicker than it was stock. Im actually racing a 95 or 96 gsx eclipse that my buddy just dropped some money into. He had it dyno tuned and produced somewhere around 260-290 whp. The reason i asked this question was he raced a newer evo not sure what yr and the evo beat him by about a car he said. So i was trying to get a rough idea of what a race between his eclipse and my camaro would end up being. Im actually planning on selling the camaro early next yr to step up to a 05-06 GTO, so hopefully this race happens before then.

To me that would be a step down, but good luck with getting a GTO they are nice cars, more refined than our f-body's.

Long time ago i raced a full bolt-on EVO from a dig, It was a damn close race he was on my bumper whole time.

well im gettin the gto because i live in az and i cant do much modding on my 94 cause i have to pass the sniffer and emissions tests. So the gto will be able to be modded alot more plus i got a baby coming so i need a little more room.

Umm a gto is a HUGE step up over an f-body. I'm still kicking myself in the *** for not trading my car in for one.

The GTO is nothing more than a swollen Geo that weighs slightly less than a garbage barge.
