Lt1 audio vs. Ls1 audio
I dont know how but the original owner of my car somehow married a Monsoon head unit to the original Bose speakers. its by-far the best sounding system I've heard... I can vibrate my mirrors
gotta drown out the exhaust noise with.......MORE NOISE!!
You'll need all these wires if you want it to work properly.
This harness has connector to radio, connector to front speaker harness, power to sub and realy

This harness has front speakers, and connector to above harness.

This harness has sub, rear speakers, connector to radio and antenna

All the other stuff you'll need

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I did start a thread there asking the same questions and included a link to this thread. I have searched before and have been unsuccessful (including google and other forums).
Someone did respond in the stereo/audio thread suggesting that the main amp in the trunk-sub unit could be the source, as the two rear speakers are unlikely to blow simultaneously and be completely in-op rather than being distorted. Does that sound about right??
And if the trunk-sub unit amp is the source of the problem, do I have to use a 5-speaker Bose system amp or are the 3-speaker subs the same?
As for KeeAudio, I will be sure to send him a PM, thanks.
But yes the factory Bose even with three speakers was pretty awesome.
OTOH I have the Monsoon in my 99 with a signal converter and 2 JL 10" subs and it sounds pretty dope...
It the world of professional audio, Bose is garbage. I've removed tons of it after customers brainwashed by their advertising spent their budgets on the crap. BOSE means: Bring Other Sound Equipment.
Even the monsoon system with 10 speakers is crap. Just adding more crap speakers doesn't make it sound good.
There's a big difference between loud and sound quality.
This is just like building your motor...crapping components lead to crappy results. However, most aftermarket parts are better than factory.
Adding a line converter to your rear output to send signal to an amp and two subs is awful. Garbage in equals garbage out. Does any believe a 12 cent box can do a good job of processing audio signals.
I know most people don't give a damn about sound anymore in these cars, its all about horsepower...but its nice to have good, quality sound to go with rumbling exhaust.
Call me old school, but I miss the days of seeing/hearing high quality audio systems...not this crap with 10 video monitors and horn speakers so my neighbors know when I'm within a 2 mile radius.
I would love to see some pics of some great installs...my car's audio is almost all hidden, but I spent money on high quality components and most people are astonished when they sit in my car...not because their ears are bleeding, but because of how good it sounds INSIDE the car.
I agree about stock being junk. Mine with a signal converter is good enough for the time being tho. I own too many cars to have a good system in them all.
My truck is MB Quart components, Kenwood HU, and JL for subs and power. It rocks pretty hard.
