would a broken header bolt and bad gasket... cause my gas mileage to suffer?
I'm certain it does but I need to prove to my wife that my gas mileage would improve if she would hurry up and buy me those longtubes I've wanted instead of waiting for Christmas

lmao, yes it could. An exhaust leak at the header lets fresh air into the system which throws off your O2 Sensors. When they see the air they get confused and start adjusting the fuel accordingly to get the Air to Fuel ratio to the correct number...so yes, it most definately could screw gas mileage up.
