Default Fresh 357 no start, no FP??

Well I was starting up the motor in the sig and it will only run when you spray carb starter into the open MAF. No fuel pressure from the line that goes into the fuelrail. When you turn the key a tiny bit of fuel shoots out I am working with a mechanic i paid on the side.

There is a pulse going to injector, we checked

Fuel filter only has 4k on it.

Fuel pump engages when you turn the key half way, impeller spins, you can fell itwith your hand on it when you turn the key half way.

Also its a new pump, a 255 intank thats about 3.5 yrs old. I burned out the stocker by running the car out of gas. When the stock one went dead nothing happened when you turned the key half way.
This is whay puzzles me, mine still engages and i dont know why the fuel pump would just die after sitting for 12wks. It sits all winter and works fine in the spring...

We drove the car from my house to the shop in late july, the car has been at the shop in the whole time. I have no clue why i doesnt work, the mechanic thinks i need a new fuel pump. Is he right??

Thanks for any help in advance. I am dying to get this car running so i have enough time to hit the track once before they close.

I see that you keep on saying, "when you turn the key on half way" This makes me think it's the ignition switch located on the steering column. I had this same problem once expect mine burnt out the start position as well.

Can you explain more, not sure what your exactly talking about???

Does the switch stop the fuel pump from working?? I am geting spark, thats not the issues. It cranks and turns over..

IF your paying a mechanic then he should have a fuel psi gauge and check it while its cranking!

You have a lock cylinder which is where your key goes in. There is a rod attached to it, when you turn the key the rod switches the position on the actual ignition switch which is located under the dash attached to the steering column. You have an acc, off, run, and start position. If the switch is defective it may not turn the fuel pump on. When mine went bad the fuel pump would only kick on if you held it between off and run. Anywho, this is something to think about if the fuel pump is only priming if you have to play with the key to get it to do so.

This, also look for kinked lines or blockages between the fuel pump and the regulator. This includes inside the fuel rails if you had them disconnected from the intake.

first things first, try to solve your FP issue, maybe hook up an external fuel tank with another pump? you already got spark so just concentrate on feeding some fuel to it

We replaced the slave cylinder and had to **** around under there for a while. It was a bitch getting it in and out, I bet the switch is in the wrong position.... It makes sense, the fuel pump is only priming too.... Hopefully this is it.

I might be missing something but if the pump is priming and you have no pressure at the rail, then the switch miiiiight not be the problem

I told ya bro you need to check first.....go to vatozone and get the tool and test it out and let us know the specs....We are not guessing here, we need verified specs

38psi is what we got off the rail when cranking the motor. When i disconnected the filter fuel dripped out the back. I moved the switch under the driver dash in both positions and it still gave us 38psi.

Mechanic is 100% sure its the pump, I dont understand how it went out by sitting for 12wks???

I think it may be the starter wires are not grounded. Talked to a buddy on the phone
