Default Weird Overheating Issue

I'll start off by saying thanks for any help in advance you guys and girls have helped me out on more then one occasion!
So here's my problem....
Earlier today I went to pick up my friend to goto the gym, when I parked I noticed my fans were still running which has never happened before. I checked my temp and sure **** it was almost in the red... So i went inside did my workout and everything to let it cool down and went back, started it up and at an idle it just kept rising past the centerline of the guage. I shut it off again and let it cool down...

Started it again and popped the hood and felt both hoses while running..both were soft and very hot and i couldnt tell if fluid was moving through or not. I then open the bleed valve and nothing came out for 3-4 secs then a constant stream came out. While it was running i decided to just give it some gas and when I did the temp went down right awayto normal. when I let it idle it goes back up and drops when I hit the gas?

Problem is Its hard for me to check thermostat and stuff cause I just moved to Luke AFB and have 0 tools (except a screwdriver lol) I also don't know anyone with a vehicle yet so its hard to just drive my car to a shop cause I dont want it to overheat... What do you guys/girls think it is? thermo? waterpump? Thanks again for any and all help!

Also, Coolant is just a tad low but I dont think its low enough to cause this dramatic of a temp change.

Have you had the coolant system disconnected before this started happening? If not it sounds like the thermostat to me. If you have disconnected it did you open both bleed screw when you bled the system?

I also think it might be thermostat, the symptom your describing sounds like it.

Check the radiator cap might be a good time to do that at the same time.

If you take the cap to autozone or some place they can check if it holds pressure.

just get a new cap, its like 18 bucks anyway, to change the thermo you only need a flat head screwdriver and a 5/16 or 8mm wrench or socket, hope you don't break it, Im planning on going to the track up there it would be kind of cool to have a couple of LTx at the track at the same time
