I would also go with splayed or 4bolt caps, actually I am going with splayed caps, and a half fill on mine. If you do get splayed caps get the 10* ones.

What you will find on these forums is everyone who guesses at power seems to identify the best "similar" setup to theirs and then add like 10% to make a guess at theirs, then a lot of folks keep posting that stuff and someone else does the same thing based off of that guess. Pretty soon bolton cars are making 350rwhp and a mild stroker makes at least 475rwhp.

Seeing as you are able to admit your's is a guess and it might not hit that suggests you have your head on straighter than most, which will go a long ways towards making it all work out.

another thing i don't like about talking numbers is WHP and CHP getting mixed in the same conversation. My last build was a BBC that had small cam low compression and made 580hp at the crank put it in the car and it made 409 on a dyno jet changed carb and intake went to a mustang dyno and made 370 LOL this was all through a 3500 PTC converter throught TH400 and a nine inch. my buddy has a cobra that made 460WHP and i'd walk him from a dig from a roll no matter how you sliced it.

so the numbers are not really important to me it is more getting what i got to make the best number and stay together. the reason for the 600hp guess is simply that a guess based off a 13:1 383 with good heads and good cam.
