it did it 3 times yesterday! first-went to start the car and dies. started right back up. second- died cruising at 55. pulled over and wouldn't start for 10 mins. third- died pulling into a parking lot, started right back up! wtf! I'm about to push it off a GD cliff!

fuel pressure regulator?? it is getting worse! did it again today 5 times!

you say turn off, like electrical or engine dies because of fuel/air/spark

Sounds a lot like the loose ground I had in a beater Neon some time back. It would die about 3 times each commute, but would start right back up after I jiggled the wires.

That was an interesting few weeks before I fixed it.

I say crank position sensor. I have no idea if it even has one but thats what it sound like.
