agree, but at the same time, why modify a DD when you can do more to the other car?

I am referring to f-bodys in general, and in that case there are those who cannot leave well enough alone.

Yup. I have a 1999 GMC Sierra SLE ECSB, stock 5.3l. I put in an Eaton Tru Trac Rear and shimmed it to stock specs & backlash with the stock 3.42 Gears.

I plan on driving the thing till the wheels fall off, I soon might get my hands on a LS1 that needs a re-build so I'm thinkin about building it, putting that in with a LS2 Cam and 243 Heads, make it about 375hp for the DD, and it'll be good for pulling. Then sell the 5.3 that comes out of it.

These kinds of threads are fairly useless, since everyone's opinion of a daily drivable car is different. Some people don't mind a monster clutch pedal and huge cam, while others won't like anything that's not automatic with almost-stock cam.

And the amount of vehicle downtime just to get a car to run 10sec 1/4 necessitates that it is not your main source of transportation, let alone the time most people would spend tinkering with it once it gets there.

I don't see the point of dumping $$ into a car to let it sit in the garage most of the time. I spent a ton of $$ on my motor/suspension/brakes so I sure am hell going to enjoy it on a daily basis. + These are $5000 f-bodies that are going to continue to depreciate, it's not like were driving exotics.

Exactly. There has never been a shortage of 3rd or 4th gen f-bodys. They are a dime a dozen, there is little demand and will never appreciate to anything unless some sort of anti f-body missile is fired upon us by the backalacka shirpashirpa dirkadingdong terrorist group...

Just a hotcam here, I DD my car. A/C and comfortable seats, traps 110mph. Plenty quick for a daily driver IMO. Should run pretty sweet here in a few weeks when I do the 24x conversion.

What do you want? I have relatively small Dart 180cc ported castings and a mild cam (.560lift) for my displacement. Runs very well on the street and I have to run M/T for any kind of real traction.
