I think Im Gettin Scammed....... I Purchased a set of Tires From: 2l8iwon about 2 months ago. Payed with Paypal, as a gift, as he wanted. I did not know that you can not Dispute these Transactions.... He said he had shipped the Tires over 3 weeks ago and Nothin here yet. I Have Been Nothin but Patient and Understanding with him as he is in the Army Reserve. But This is Getting Rediculous. Always Days Beteween PM's and Still has not Came up with a tracking number either.
I dont know What to do now as He lives in Arizona and im in Ohio. Had a Good Trader Rating so i didnt Really hesitate on buying them.
Can Anyone Help Me? I Hate to do this to the guy if he really is telling the truth but I need to get my money back or Tires.......

Never send money as a gift, but it sounds like you learned the hard way. Post in the seller feedback/disputes and he may get banned but you cant get your money back unless you drive out there and force it back.

^^^^^No, I'm sure you can post for everyone. It helps protect future bad trading. Also you may wanna post his name and contact info as someone here may know him and may be able to help you. And theft is theft. You can generate a police report in his town and have him charged...Hopefully it doesn't come to that. With his trader rating it's silly for him to be scamming...Hopefully its all a misunderstanding. Tires are fairly cheap to ship ups ground, though, not sure how much he's saving shipping them via freight...And the whole pay pal gift thing has me concerned...Good luck though...

Never, ever, EVER mark payment for something as a gift. It waives all rights and options you may have in case any issues arise. If they are too cheap to take the 3% hit then offer to cover it for them, thats a lame excuse since its just 3 bucks for every hundred and most buyers are happy to add the bit extra if you ask.

Asking for Paypal as a gift is a red flag that you're about to be scammed. So is asking for payment through Western Union. Neither allows you to get your money back because they are meant for gifting money to people you know, not payment for items to strangers.
Other common scams are buyers overpaying and requesting money back, or sellers that are way to eager to ship a car.

Now this Guy said he went to the freight company and they had lost the form he filled out with all the information including his contact info. Said he got the tires back from them and That he would ship them this week. I have not heard from him since last Sunday .... ***** getting old
