^^^this coming from a guy with 1.85 RR's??? you CAN get a custom grind for 1.7's just as easily.............

Yes Im running 1.85 rockers on a STOCK cam(bought the car that way)... but ideally your better off using a lower ratio rocker with custom grind cam.... you completely missed the point of my previous post anyways! Please do not reply to my posts until your comprehension level increases!

Running 1.85's on an LS1 is more like running 1.65's on an LT1. Comparatively speaking in regards to what rocker ratio the camshaft is designed for.

the 1.7 is the highest "commonly available" for the lt1, although I'm sure you could get others. Jesel, etc.. would make you whatever you wanted for the right price. I seem to recall John Lingenfelter running an extremely high ratio rocker (1.9??) on a vette he built/tested wayyy back in the day. I don't remember whether it was an LT1 or L98 (which wouldn't have been a true L98, but a highly engineered sbc with efi other than tpi) If I remember correctly it was turbo'd ....maybe twice? and ran over 200 mph which was a big deal in a street/production type car at the time.

I'm not sure about what's commonly available for the ls1, but that sounds about right.

I personally wouldn't run anything over 1.7's on an lt1....and only them on certain camshafts. I also wouldn't spec a cam for their use.....I would only use them to crutch and existing grind. IE: 1.7's on my stock cam....or 1.7's on the cc503 laying on my shelf to bump the lobes up to something more along the xfi specs or common custom grind specs. Granted this will not yield the same results, but it's more cost effective for me and that is important right now.
