Finally in the 8s
Finally in the 8s Went to the track yesterday for the last race of the year, and on the second pass we finally got the 8 second run we had been looking for. It ran a best of 8.97 at 153.9 and we got enough data to know what changes need to be made over the winter and be back out first thing in the spring. After I got home and checked the data log a little more I reallized that I never put all the timing back in it we pulled out playing on the dyno last week also it was only going thought the traps at 6600 rpm. I think that with the 4 degrees of timing I forgot about and a steeper gear I am hoping to pick up at least 2 tenths in the spring.
We would never suggest trusting anything making serious power to the stock PCM. While aftermarket engine management may not make any power difference, the ease of adjustability, ability to datalog, integrated wbo2's, etc. may very well save your investment in applications where there is little margin for error.
