You can bypass the vats, shbox website link shows how. Most likely your orange/white wire (to the lock cylinder) is either open or short to ground which could cause the security light to come on.

Have you got a chance to see if the lock cylinder wire (orange and white) is disconnected or broken? If it were to break usually at the back of the lock cylinder where the wire sits.

You might have just not reconnected that vats wire connector to lock cylinder wire connector, or just a bad chip in your key.

This link is another helpful link to bypass vats

I like shbox link better its simple to understand.

This link shows how to find out what value resistance in ohms that your key has

i checked the vats wiring under the dash last night and it seemed fine of what i could see but i did not trace it up the steering column or check it at the back of the lock cylinder
i just checked my key and i got a reading of 680 so a Pellet code 3
im going to try to test the key and lock cylinder resistance tonight and if that ends up checking out fine i will just wire around the vats system

The delco radio doesn't have anything to do with the security light.

Is the vats module still in the car?

Did you get the correct resistor? Where did you install the resistor?

i did get the resistor and put it in the right spot i figured out what the problem was when i replaced the passernger airbag i didnt realize that the computer for the security system is the one on the airbag bracket so i used the one that was on the new airbag bracket but once i figured that out and torn the dash back out and put the old one in it started up just fine and i left the resistor in there so i wont have to deal with that isssue coming up

That would be why. The new card module on the bracket had a new value on it. Sell it. Someone might need it.

I need to get a hold of the guy I got it from and ask him to test his key to I know the pellet code before I sell any ideas how much those things are worth used and also if the airbags deploy does the airbag computer have to be replaced or is it reusable
