Default Removing what!?!

ok guys. I am going to need something to work on this winter. I figured now would be a good time to try and clean up my engine bay a little bit. I have been looking at lt1engine.com and their are some good write-ups on there.

What are some things that you can remove?
I already removed the AIR and EGR crap with the headers.

Plans so far:

1. hide wires on passenger side in the fender
2. relocate fuel lines up to the firewall
3. possibly paint some stuff
(who makes the best paint for, say an intake manifold....i know, im a newb)

Any suggestions appreciated!

You're about right with stuff to clean up, unless you want to get rid of your A/C as well.

I'm doing the passenger's side fender wiring relocation tomorrow night. Already did the fuel line relocation, Speed Inc. makes a REALLY nice kit.
If you're going to paint your engine bay, strip everything out.
For parts like intake manifolds, water pump bodies, alternator cases, throttle bodies, etc, go with powder coat. It's durable, gives a really nice shine, and will last for EVER.
I've got my charge pipes powdercoated, front accessory bracket, and possibly going to do my alternator case.

as in you did all of that work to make the engine bay look clean. But the stickers are a step in the other direction. Not really making progress. But thats just my opinion. Every other part of the car looks amazing! Not hatin! lol Just sayin.

gotcha....yea I have been thinking about doing something different with the rad cover lately.... I am having the center black part of my hood real flamed and was thinking about doing the same on the rad cover.... Or I may just leave it black when I spray the engine bay black....

Take it to a professional. Unless you have experience with powder coat, you'll screw it up. Parts (especially aluminum) have to be out-gassed (baked bare at a higher temperature than baking with powder on them) for a certain amount of time. And parts have to be CLEAN.

Powdercoating isn't that expensive. I got an entire set of charge piping for my supercharger setup done for $50. It was a LOT of tubing.

it really isnt that hard. i started out by powdercoating my intake and pump (both aluminum) and both turned out awesome. it takes minimal cleaning with sandblaster or wirewheel.

And you didn't out-gas them? You probably have several pinholes on them...
Any cast aluminum will pinhole if you don't out-gas it.
