Default tuning in florida

Hy

I'm about to install longtubes and 1.6 RR, as far as i know when installing Longtubes the car needs to be tuned to get maximum benefit. I live in Curacao and here NO ONE tunes these car. las time i was in miami i traveled with my pcm and went to GM Racing Express(Ray) to get it tuned (EGR-skipshift-AIR-Security system delete) i told him the mods i have end he did his job. Car has been running very good. Next year when i go to MIA i want to take my pcm to get retuned.

Beside GM express racing does any one know any tune in Miami or south florida area. Or is Ray the best?

Too bad you live so far south. I would be happy to tune your setup.

Have you thought about mail order tunes? Might be more conveniant for you. And if all you have been doing is taking your PCM to somebody to tune without the car, well, its basically the same thing. You'd need a few things (laptop, cables, editor program) but, you could probably come across those pretty cheap if you search a little on here.

For just bolt ons I would also do a mail order tune. Once you do H/C or something then schedule to meet with Jeremy Formato. I guess he runs around a lot I hear.

24x conversion is another option. You won't have any problems finding a tuner then.

If you are going somewhere local, may as well bring the whole car and let them dyno tune it. +1 on Formato, fasterproms I think is his business. I have worked with him and he is a nice guy.

No with the mail order tune you mail out the PCM, you don't have to upload the tune yourself. On the other hand there is trifecta, they mail you a programmer that you mail back after uploading the tune from it. Not sure if anyone on here has used them though.

I used Ion(madtuner) for three PCMs. I was happy with the results and customer service.

if you decide to do a mail order tune I have seen great success with PCMforless...For what you have done I am sure they can get it close....We ran a mail order tune from them in my friends Camaro that had a bolt on iron head LT1 and it went 12.9s all motor with a horrible 60' and 17" wheels w/6 spd......

Just a thought
