I like it for a DD a better sound, quiet, but nice. I actually took it off and put on another set up I have that was loud, ended up putting the magnaflow back on after a week.

thats why i just ran a magnaflow muffler on mine and kept the stock exhaust and tips. since the stock exhaust is 2.75 and the pipe before the cat is 2.5, i didn't think there'd be much gain in goinng from 2.75 to 3 inch pipe. it was also alot cheaper that way. i paid $86 for the muffler and $70 to get it installed.
If you go that route, due to the fact that the stock pipes have a little bend in them, make sure the new pipes line up correctly or they will end up like this:

I have one on its way to me that i bought off ebay. I found a listing that had it listed for 346 with a "make offer" option. Got it for 300 shipped. Just search Magnaflow 15620. I believe it was from a store called Wide open speed.

Sounds like you did the same research about whether going with a full catback was worth it and came up with the same conclusion. Most people said there really is no significant performance gain if you're still running the stock headers since the stock pipe isn't too restrictive. If you're just looking for a good sound and look, just go with muffler and tips. My former LT1 sounded just like the clip, and I'm thinking about doing the same with my new LS1 since I don't plan on going with headers.

My setup is Pacesetter LT's, 3 inch ORY, no cat, and the magnaflow catback, I love it, real subtle idle, then once you hit about 2500, it sounds great, its not Loudmouth raspy but at the same time its not stock exhaust silent, but then again thats with headers, could sound different if your running manifolds. Hope this helps!

Werd. When you are at an angle to see under the car where the pipes exit the muffler then swell to 3.5", I always thought that looked a bit “rice” – ie, like these Hondas/acuras with a shitty <2” tailpipe that’s got a 4” tip stuck to the very end. I personally think if they took those large Magnaflow tailpipes and clash cut them it would improve the look significantly. That’s what I loved about my Flowmaster kit – the tailpipes are only 3” dia but stainless and clash cut (plus slightly angled downward). Love that look.
$430+ for a Magnaflow kit does seem pricey. I know Flowmaster seems to have an ugly rep these days which might be why my entire catback cost $315 a few years back… but I always remember/though magnaflow was in the same price range as FM…
Also love the sound of magnaflow. If I got this setup I’d make/find my own tailpipes or slash cut the ones they come with.

Im also not a fan of the magnaflow tips. I bought a set of gmmg oval tips to put on the magnaflow, so im gonna have my exhaust shop make some tailpipes to run the new tips. After a google search the gmmg tips were my favorite on a formula. I also like the corsa clones but i already have the dual/dual tips on my LM1 so i'm ready for a change.

Is there a "let's see your tips" thread? I can't find it, but I think there was one on this forum.
(Nevermind, found it. https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...aust-tips.html)
And another: https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...-you-have.html

I have the Magnaflow catback with eBay headers and a spun metal cat. Nice throaty sound, quiet at idle, very nice sounding at WOT. Never liked the look of the tips much either, but they are the best flowing tips. Dual tips look cool, but I think they just disturb the exhaust flow.

Just received my magnaflow catback (15620) that i purchased on ebay. $300 shipped. I love getting new parts. Nothing to complain about... fast shipping, and a nice price. The best price i could find anywhere else was about 350. Used the best offer option at wide open speed. I recommend this route to anyone looking to purchase this system.
on a side note: Im not going to be using the tailpipes/tips so if anyone needs them Pm me a fair offer.

Mines better! For at least 139 miles! lol jk man. I wish i would have found a used one but these go quick in the fs section. Normally dont last a day before selling. But i guess thats not all bad as i do change my mind frequently. Should be an easy sell if i do.

Yeah Ill be putting mine up for sale soon. My first start with the exhaust on the car and I was like this is coming right back off. Almost wanted to return it. Waiting to head back home and put the old borla muffler on there. If I don't like the sound of that then I am swapping to slp loudmouth as its the exhaust I wanted on the car in the first place.
