The 93 f-body's didn't come with a 4L60E, so you would have to get a 94-up PCM if you want the computer controlled tranny. Technically the 93 came with a 4L60, but same basic tranny as the 700r4, only wiring going to the trans is for the TCC. That's why your friend was able to swap out for the T350 without any issues (I'm assuming). I don't know anything about the T350, but the 700r4 and 4L60 shifts are controlled by a throttle valve cable.

With that said, it's a damn good deal if you ask me.

True. The '93 has a transmission all its own. He must get another 4L60 if he wants to go back to stock. It is a 700-R4 with modified elecronics so he cannot use a '92 700-R4. The 4L60 has a round plug. The THM300 would only be using the TV cable since it has no electronics. He may have some modding to do to get back to stock. It's worth it though.

I understand that a 92 and earlier 700r4 wouldn't be a direct plug in, but you could still easily swap one in place of the TH350. People do it all the time in non-4th gen applications. You would just have it easy since you have stock parts available for mounting and driveshaft issues.

If you can get the valve body from the original 4L60 trans you can just bolt it up to a 92 700-R4 and it will work with the computer.

Not to hijack this thread, I picked my wife up a 93 Firebird with a stock LT1 in it. I was wondering what trans is in it. I am looking for a convertor for the car and was told that it is a 700R4. So can I use a 4l60e in it if it is a 4l60. Thanks and Sorry.
