There have been a few BBC swaps, but that's a ton of $$$ for what?

A couple friends of mine have BBC's in their 4th gens. If you are good with fabbing stuff you can easily make the motor mounts to bolt it right in. The headers on the otherhand lolololol...... good luck building yourself a set of them to wrap around the steering shaft. Then you will need to trim the cowl to fit the distributor (if it has one) and you will most likely need a big cowl induction hood. The most logical big cube motor you could fit would either be a 454 SBC motor from Bill Mitchell or a big cube LSx motor.

Check out the drag racing section. Theres a build on the first page. Car never ran but it was basically done. Biggest prob seemed to be the headers. Theres one around here and he said it just dropped in with a BBC k-member from BMR. Not sure what headers he used but didnt mention any issues with them. Ill have to find out what he did. Hes actually a member here, so maybe he will see the thread.

lol... just run a 441ish cube LS7. You could make an easy 700 hp on pump gas, and spray another 300.

Or just get a bigger set of heads and a D1 blower??? You could also re do your current topend for more power, than hit it with a 100 shot?

The BBC just doesnt make sense when you could swap to LS or go with a FI LT1.

I remember when John Moss stuffed an aluminum 9.5 liter 572 block into a 1993 Camaro back in the day. It was badged the 'ZL-1 Camaro'.

There's been some nice BBC swaps that I've seen but you need to figure out your budget and how much power you want. I went overboard on my setup because I was looking to run with the big boys around Dallas whose street cars are 800+ rwhp.

If I were you, look into forced induction of some sort versus cubic inches. Do a TT 396 or something. To go any higher and you will need to go SBC/BBC/LSx and to do so means a lot of modification to the electrical to make it all work.
