I know what an LT1 and an LT4 is (who dosen't) and what vehicals they came in. What the HELL is a LT5
. Maybe I'm just ignorant or just plain stupid, but until I clicked on this web site I have never heard an LT5. I have what I thought was pretty extensive knowlege of what engine goes into what GM vehical for the past 30 or so years. I guess I don't. Some one educate me! Thanx!

ZR1's were 90MY cars to 95MY. Chevrolet notified dealers on April 19th, 1989 that the ZR1 option would not be available until the 1990MY. The ZR1 option was $27,016 on top of the $31,979 coupe. 3,049 buyers shelled out the $58,995 for the "King of the Hill" that the ZR1 was nicknamed. The LT5 pumped out 380hp and was upped to 405hp in 1993. Murcury Marine built the last LT5 engine in November 1993. From 90-95 a total of 6,939 ZR1s were produced. The LT5 was an all aluminum (block and heads) DOHC 32 valve motor.
All info came from "Corvette: America's Sports Car". Worth checking out if you get the chance.
