Blew a Headgasket.... NEED OPINIONS
Now i have to disconnect the headers from the y pipe and drop the headers a little bit, so i can get to the head bolts. Drivers side will be easy (Driver side is the one thats blown).
My question is, should i do both or just driver side... I want to do both but here's the problem...
I have till Saturday to get my inspection done.
My car is outside on 4"x4" blocks.
Its 20 degrees out.
Theres 2" of snow on the ground.
Really need help here.
Thanks in advance,
Kyle
Obviously its ideal to do both headgaskets at the same time. Whenever I do head gaskets on a V motor I always do both. If one blew, the other is probably not far behind.
You have to weigh out how much work it is to get to the point of actually being able to remove the head vs. the time you want to spend doing it now. If you don't mind doing it all over again from the start, then you could probably just wait until Spring to do the other side.
Never overheated on me, Only got too 210 degrees at its highest point (I have a digital gauge and i was watching it like a hawk ) haha.
Yeah. I figured. I could do one, and my friend said he would replace the other for me in spring when its warm out for $300

Inspection isn't the end of the world, if you are a few days late, you will live, unlike freezing to death trying to fix the car in the driveway.
