Im in Ohio and about 2-3 hours from you, If you were closer I would fix it for you in a weekend easy. I also have two extra sets of LT1 heads, one set high miles and another 40,000 mile set. I wouldn't even charge $500 to change it out and LT1 heads are dime a dozen so you could come out cheaper than $3000. Look for a LT1 gearhead and have them do it instead of some garage/dealer. You live in OHIO so your polluted with fast SBC cars around you.

Not sure if its the same there as it is here in Texas, but we have a consumer division with the Attorney Generals office, they will take your complain and fix it for you, believe me, I have used them a couple of times for different incidences and either got my money back or the bill was dropped, I also called the BBB and the Chamber of commerce for that town, with all three calling the business, they refunded me my money...

As a matter of fact it is! This is the BEST car I ever owned, and that includes 3 Camaros. Plus my car is unique, I don't see one on every street corner like I do with the f-body cars. Oh and another thing, I bought my car for $20K used back in Dec of 2008 and now it's worth more than I paid for it. I bet you can't say that about your car.
I never once claimed my car was fast, if I wanted it fast I could get my car into the 11's with ease. But since going fast doesn't concern me, I put most of my money into my fully customized Harley Low Rider which also holds it's value very well.

Id love to see you get more than $20k for your G8.
On topic: Have you found out for sure exactly what parts are needed to repair your current engine? If nothing is wrong with the bottom end then you could purchase a set of heads for anywhere between $150-$1500 depending on what you get. You could easily repair the car for less than $300 in parts if the bottom end is still good.

Also Superchips has fully optimized tunes for the Volant CAI and most of the other popular brands, and I can also disable DOD since I do mostly city driving. It amazes me how some of you THNK you know what's going on inside my head, when all it is is speculation.
Just look around and you will see that G8's are advertised for $25K plus, and people that bought a G8 recently are paying that for one. Not that it really matters to me since I plan on keeping this great car for a long time. Oh by the way, the replacement value on my car is around $23K on my insurance policy, so those numbers I put up are right. Plus KBB indicates it's worth more then $25K too, so it seems I'd have no problem getting more than I paid for it, or at least break even after driving it for 2 years.

He's probably never owned a G8, or known anyone that did. How was he supposed to know what kind of motor it has in it when he was talking about what kind of motor it has in it? Not that those types of details really matter in a such a discussion. Everyone makes mistakes. You need to lighten up. Me? I would probably drop in an OEM Pratt & Whitney and be done with it.
