The company is ATK its out of dallas.. They build some good motors.. You can get a stock shortblock from them for 1200.. So that seems kinda high to me.. BUt hey if it gets you back on the road.. here is there site..

Ya, a car built in 1993 vs a car produced in late 2000's, tough call there buddy.

3000? Damn! Ill sell you my LT1 just rebuilt back in march by Houston Engine & Balance with cryoed: rods, arp bolts, rings, valve springs. Pistons are flycut and rotating assembly is balanced. standard on mains/rods and quicky hone. Ported stock casting heads flow 255/170 w/ stock valves. Cam is Comp XFI 280. Comp 918 springs, 1.65 rockers, hardened pushrods, etc... BBk 52mm and lucas 36lb injectors. mid 11s on motor and bottom 10s on the juice. All for 3000... installed! same price but a hella lot more motor! just got to trailer it down to houston :/

Basically my point is your gettin jipped for 3k... if the dealership will pay it then hell yea, if not go elsewhere...

He's not getting ripped for a new motor installed. Could he get his car running for less? Of course, but not with a new motor. Imo I wouldn't put $3000 in a 120k mile car for a stock motor.

Awesome, lol I've been tryin to find the site forever. And yea I would love to buy someone elses engine that is already built more, but if I end up having to pay for it the mechanic is gonna let me make payments on it. Lol and a trailer to houston I'm guessing ain't cheap at all

sorry you are correct he is not gettin ripped... but like said many times before it can be done for much cheaper. new no. good used hell yea. and ive always stayed away from those 1500 dollar rebuilt motors from some little unknown engine company. i worked for Houston Engine and Balance for a while and we did some machining for a few local companys like such(two in particular) and alot of there stuff is just quick throw together ****. im talkin not checkin clearances, scratched up cranks, slight surface rusted stuff.. and lots of other little things like the such. never would go with one personally from a company like that unless they are highly known and proven company.

no flames... this is what ive personally seen working at an engine shop... and not saying names of two particular companies, sorry.

Lol believe me, I would love to buy a built engine for the same price. But I would have have it shipped, and there's no way I can just come up with 3k, I was gonna make payments on this one. But either way I'm keeping this car, and hopefully next winter gonna be starting my build.

Let's talk about this guy's car people. Let all the other junk that has nothing to do with this thread drop.

Yea lol one of em needs rebuilt. Another one I wouldn't trust the guy cause he can't even spell motor or comp right. And the third one has 110k miles on it GEEZUS lol. I think the way I'm going is gonna be better in the long run, because now I have a new engine and I'm trading an older one for a new trans, so basically I have a fresh start

This site reminds me of a toilet filled with turds and a broken flusher.
