Default The end of an era...

Well, I sold the Formula today. It's going to a good home where it will be driven as it should. The new owner is going to take care of it as it should and I feel really good about the sale. Good luck to all my fellow LT-ers who are still carrying the torch for the under dog LTX. I'm still planning on being active around here and watching some of your cool builds going on. I'm not sure what car I'm going to get for my next project. My wife and I are starting a business so it will consume us for a few years, but I'm sure I'll have something again sooner than later. Forgive me if I live my car life through you all for a while...

I feel your pain. My car is for sale right now. It kills me to think about selling it. Hope to see you in another car at some point. Good luck with the new business.

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure what I'm going to get into when the time is right..I know that the guy buying the car will probably move ahead with it either with nitrous or some form of power adder. I always thought a 150-200 shot would be interesting. I may look into swiping my dad's LPE 383 2003 Corvette in a few years...I've also always had an affinity towards the Mercedes AMG E55 2003-2005 years, which are coming down in price...Mrs. ABA383 would love a 60's era Shelby Cobra with an LSX twist...That could be very interesting.

But for now, with two houses, and the wife moving ahead with her business we need to focus on other stuff besides cars. Honestly, I feel like I just sent one of my kids off to college. I raised him with the help of some good folks and he matured into a well respected car...lol. Now he's moving out to continue his education, and probably educate some others along the way...I'm going to continue to follow the car's progress and report back here with the results. I have no doubt that the new owner will take the car to another level.

Sorry to see it go but congrats on getting it sold in a tough market. Did you get close to your asking price?

I got what I was asking...The new owner knows me and the car and knows what's in it...I think we both made a good deal. He's gonna have a lot of fun with the car. While I'm a bit sad, I'm really happy to see it go to a good home.

A bit sad? I think a lot, seeing you were doing 11 sec, that means that allot of time(and $$) has been spend on the car. Any if your Ok with it good.
Mine ok for now, if i sell it, i must be in a deep hole, i would just let it stay there and just trow some gas in it to start it atleast once a week.

Yep I had lots of time and money invested, but it was time for it to go to someone who had the time and money to move ahead with it. I probably put 3000 miles on it over the last 3 years. I took it as far as I wanted and priorities change. I got more irritated walking past it everyday in the garage knowing that I didn't have the time and, frankly, the desire, to drive it. I've been a part of this car's "life" since it was new in 1995. Its a great car and I'm really happy that the new owner wants to drive it like I intended. But, it's time to move on.

When I decide on another project its going to be something totally different. Fast? Yep, probably much faster than the Formula. I'm actually excited to see what the next chapter holds for me. Like I mentioned earlier I have 3 ideas in the works, but it's gonna be a few years. For now, if I need to drive something fast, I'll hop in Dad's 2003 LPE 383 Corvette. That should keep me satisfied for a bit...
